A client of mine, a Local Authority, is actively seeking an Environmental Health Officer, to join their busy team for an initial 3 month period. Could this be you?
This is an ideal opportunity for a generalist who is looking for a new opportunity and is also able to cover at least a couple of areas of Environmental Health including Food, Housing, Environmental Protection, and Licensing.
About the Role:
The contract will see you tackle a varied caseload of work from across the Environmental Health spectrum including, but not limited to:
- Housing – HMO Licensing, HHSRS inspections, reactive work
- Food Safety – inspections from A-E rated premises and enforcement
- Environmental Protection – noise, stat nuisance, land contamination, and air quality
- Licensing – Licensing Act 03, Taxi and Private Hire

The contract is for an initial 3 months but has the potential to become a rolling contract which will be depending on your performance.
The council are willing to be flexible with working arrangements and would even consider part-time options for the right candidate.
The rate is negotiable depending on your experience but is likely to be around £30-£35 per hour.
You will need an up to date knowledge of current Environmental Health legislation which is essential for this role, and enforcement experience is beneficial. EHRB registration is desirable but the experience is king!
