About you

Joining the Estates Team and reporting into the Head of Estates as his deputy, you will be a pro-active team player, experienced in managing an estates team and overseeing contractors (which support the infrastructure of the building and its functions). A focus of the role is delivering a cost effective service and continuing to maintain these savings. The ability to manage a cohesive team and maintain a positive working environment is important. You will be collaborating with the Head of Estates as his deputy to bring 3 different contracts in house, bringing about 170 members of staff on board across maintenance, security and cleaning. You will show strong stakeholder liaison throughout, with a positive working culture being imperative to the University, this role is really about a personality fit – the Head of Estates is looking for a competent Deputy he can trust to handover too.

About the role

The role requires you to be a pro-active busy character, with a big emphasis on the mobilization of these contracts, you will need to hit the ground running. An articulate and measured profile is required, as the Estate is very busy and a positive working environment is always fostered. This is a big role, requiring you to take on a large remit across both hard and soft services, but above all else, it requires you to be comfortable managing a big team and supporting the Head of Estates in a collaborative way.
