Building Control Surveyor

    • Building Control
  • London
  • £45 - £50 per hour
  • Interim Management

Recently, a great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join a London based Local Authority. You will be joining up with an already established team of surveyors who are looking to bring on board one more Surveyor to assist with the organisations current workload. The contract will be for an initial 6 months, although there is potential for extension or to even join permanently.

About You

Ideally, you will be professionally accredited to RICS, CABE, MBEng or CIOB standard. Whilst this is desirable, candidates working towards their professional accreditations will also be considered. You should have relevant and, most importantly, recent experience within Building Control; this can be either in the shape of working with Local Authorities or Approved Inspectors. Experience in BOTH checking plans and completing site inspections is desirable. The client is looking for someone who possesses great communication skills and work ethic.

The client currently have various commercial schemes underway and more to commence, so experience with commercial and high rise applications is preferable.

About the Role

In relation to the Local Authority, the role will entail:

  • Checking building designs and drawings in concordance with Building Regulations
  • Carrying out site inspections, insuring they conform to the Building Control Standards
  • Incorporating residential, commercial and retail schemes from commencement through to completion

Whilst this is initially a contract position, there is potential to join permanently, should all go well. This isn’t an expectation but could be something to consider due to them paying competetive market salaries.
