A Local Authority in South East England is looking for an Adult Social Care Locum to join their team.
You will undertake a range of high-level legal work, but in particular in relation to the following key areas:
Key areas of Legal work
Mental Capacity Act,
Mental Health Act,
Court of Protection applications – predominantly welfare applications re residence, care and support, disputes regarding capacity, hoarding issues, deprivation of liberty challenges
Care Act advice – including Ordinary Residence disputes, challenges regarding obligations to meet needs, responding to pre-action letters (Judicial Review proceedings)
Mental Capacity Act advice – best interests, capacity, disputes
Mental Health Act – s117 disputes, displacement of nearest relative applications in the County Court
Safeguarding advice/attendance at meetings.
Includes regular Court of Protection appearances (initial case management, fact-finding, final hearings) – currently via CVP or telephone, meetings with clients, round table and advocates’ meetings.
Rate: Dependent on experience (Competitive)
Hours: Full-time or Part-time
