Our Environmental Health Specialist William Shipley is Oyster’s Employee of the Quarter! He has demonstrated this title by showing not only does he live by our values internally; proactivity, understanding, integrity and dedication, he also reflects these externally by providing to our clients and professionals alike an outstanding level of service. Recently Will was promoted to Team Leader which he was thrilled about as his hard work is truly paying off in his career of property recruitment.
Below Will gives us an update about his recent accolade – the world really is your oyster!
1. How did you feel being named Oyster’s Employee of the Quarter?
I was absolutely stunned, I had no idea I would even be in the running as it was a fantastic quarter for so many people at the business. At the time I was speechless but it really felt like all my decisions and effort had been vindicated and appreciated.
2. What do you feel you have done that has given you the title?
It’s a difficult question to answer! I try to do the very best I can every day, whether that be speaking to my clients and candidates, through to helping those around me. I think the fact that my team has grown over the last quarter and hit targets really helped me. I also give my all to representing Oyster in the right way, hopefully demonstrating our values; Integrity, Dedication, Understanding and Proactivity to my fullest!
3.How has your Divisional Manager Jaspreet helped you in your recruitment career?
Jas has had a massive impact for my career in recruitment and Oyster. A year ago I changed teams moving from another team at Oyster to join Jas’, starting my own division for Environmental Health. Jas gave me the confidence to take on the challenge and has supported me every step of the way. I owe the majority of my success over the last year to having such an incredible role model as a manager. Thank you!
4. Do you have a favourite quote that you live by?
“I’m not comfortable with comfort. I’m only comfortable when I’m in a place where I’m constantly learning and growing.” – Kanye West
5. How would you define success?
I would personally define success based on your lasting impact on those around you and in a wider sense. Seeing others flourish and grow around me due to my help and guidance is the most gratifying feeling. I would rather have an impact and have people say I helped influence them than make a massive amount of money.
6.Lastly, what is your most enjoyable part working at Oyster Partnership?
Tough choice but I would say the people! I have met so many people over the last 3 years that have become great friends, they make coming into work every day a total pleasure and keep you going when times are tough!
