The role of a Childcare Solicitor is concerned with the status of a child within a family. A childcare Solicitor will be asked to intervene by the local authority if the authority believes they need to get involved to protect the child. A childcare solicitor will always act in the best interest of the child.
As a solicitor, you’ll have fantastic career progression opportunities. When it comes to the law sector there are many different routes you can take. You can choose to work for a small law firm, the government, local authorities, charity or large private law firms.
The role of a Childcare Solicitor includes:
- Working through emotionally challenging circumstances
- Managing 10 – 12 cases simulateously
- Working with social workers and complying with safeguarding measures
- Dealing with emergency applications, care proceedings and adoption
- Providing advice at panel meetings
Qualifications & Experience
You are required to have a law degree or GDL/CPE qualifications in order to work as a lawyer in the UK.
You will need to have a deep understanding of Childcare law. Emotional intelligence and the ability to deal with complex cases is desirable.
Salary
Contractors: £30 – £50 per hour
Permanent contract: £40,000
