Charitable Christmas

Charitable Christmas at Oyster Partnership

This month members of the Oyster team are offered a day out of the office to volunteer their time at a charity of choice. Volunteering not only helps the less fortunate, it gives our consultants an important insight into the wider community.

Eleanor Wood, Sam Jefferson and Matt Bunyan visited Roots and Shoots to volunteer their time for a day.

Roots and Shoots provides vocational training for young people from the inner city, mainly from the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

Members of the Oyster team spent Friday 8 December assisting with gardening and clearing areas to set up for their annual Christmas market.

Roots and Shoots offer skills and self-confidence for young people through activities. Up to twenty 16-19 year olds who have had difficulty coping in the traditional educational system spend a year learning how to best prepare for life and the work force. In addition, they involve local schools and the wider community by establishing the site as an important green space for urban biodiversity.

This charity was chosen by Matt Bunyan as it’s an organisation he was involved with in a past.
