As the UK is on lockdown for the foreseeable future, we have had to make some adjustments to the way we work here at Oyster Partnership. For the most part, our work will remain the same; we are still on hand to recruit for active roles and advise our clients and candidates as per usual – however, staff will be working remotely from their homes in order to do this. If you haven’t heard from us, don’t worry. Below is a copy of our official statement on the matter.
A Letter from our Managing Director
Firstly, I hope you, your friends and family are keeping well during this difficult time.
The team at Oyster transitioned to home working last week with little issue to infrastructure and process, so I hope you’ve all been receiving calls and assistance where needed.
I wanted to write to you to let you know my plans for business continuity and service. A large majority of our team are still working full time servicing our candidates and clients as usual and this will continue for as long as possible. We’ve been incredibly impressed at how you, the Public Sector, have responded and how many of you are operating with a business as usual approach. I do appreciate however, that as time goes on and depending on the role that you, do things may change in the coming weeks. Please rest assured that my Finance Director and I are in constant contact with our legal team on any new legislation changes, especially with contract workers and the public sector and we will update you as and when we can.
Our number one priority as a business is to operate as ‘normal’. That includes keeping you in your current roles for as long as possible, continuing to pay you as regular, as well as providing you with our usual Oyster service.
The current signs from our clients are all positive, however, should you need anything be it advice or just a chat – we’re here for you.

Understandably, not everyone is locked down and we encourage you to look to the future and continue to advertise your roles regardless of your industry. At this point in time, no one can say how long this lockdown will continue for, but businesses and services cannot and should not come to a halt during the pandemic. At this time we implore you to ignore pessimistic outlooks for the job market. Our industry is unique in that many of our clients and their employees are vital to the country’s infrastructure and services – and would be considered key workers during this time. Unlike other industries property and housing recruitment will not come to a standstill, and will continue to thrive, even while the rest of the country is on lockdown.
Depending on your skills, the current situation has presented candidates with a unique opportunity to work for a wide variety of businesses. Roles are becoming available in businesses where opportunities are rare, and due to a high demand for skilled workers, candidates could be in a position to receive more favourable remuneration packages.
