Oyster Partnership’s Town Planning team represented at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence held at London’s Milton Court Concert Hall on Thursday 15 June, sponsoring the drinks’ reception and presenting the Employer Award for Excellence.
The event was the RTPIs most successful to date with the largest number of international and UK based entries across 13 categories. Carefully judged by a panel of 48 industry experts, the extensive assessment criteria for each category was directed by the Right Honourable Nick Raynsford.
The opening drinks’ reception welcomed public, private and third party representatives, entertained shortly thereafter by international designer Wayne Hemingway MBE of Hemingway Designs, sharing narratives from his urban design and architectural experience. Hemingway interestingly highlighted the effect on amenity of high street chains that don’t provide much social value in a generation that are brought up completely surrounding and influenced by social media.
Oyster Partnership’s Principal Consultant Sohan Modi presented the Employer Award for Excellence on the night, won twice in the past by Oyster client Iceni Projects. This year Iceni were category finalists with Terence O’Rourke taking the winning position following recognition for the learning and development program they offer their Planners.
Oyster Partnership look forward to continuing their relationship with the RTPI, historically partnering through event sponsorships over the past 10 years.
